Natural Sunscreen & Tanning
Tanning and Natural Sunscreen
At Danu World, we strongly encourage you to stay safe in the sun. Exposure to harmful radiation and tanning beds can cause skin cancer. We know that skin cancer is on the increase and the best way to protect your skin from UV rays and harmful free radicals is to use a sunscreen lotion. When tanning, you need to protect yourself from the UVA and UVB rays. They stand for UltraViolet Aging and UltraViolet Burning. Think about them in those terms and it really hits home as to what they actually do to your skin.
Natural and Organic Sunscreen at Danu World
Take care to check your sun lotion to ensure that you are covered for both UVA and UVB exposure. Not all sunscreen is broad spectrum to cover both. Your sunscreen has a shelf life. Once opened, most sunscreen will start to degrade and the sunscreen lotion SPF will decrease in time. It isn’t suitable to use products from last year as you risk burning. Use them up at the end of your holiday as a body moisturiser.
This range is perfect for the whole family. You don’t need to have a bottle for each family member with different SPF. SPF 30 is a good all-rounder. Titanium dioxide is the ingredient that acts as a sunscreen. Titanium dioxide sits on the skin and acts as a barrier to the UVB and UVA rays. It doesn't penetrate the skin.
What is an SPF?SPF stands for sun protection factor. Sunscreen SPF ratings are a formula for determining how long you can stay safely in the sun without burning. If you burn after 15 minutes in the sun without sun protection, then using an SPF 20 means you can stay safely in the sun for 20x15mins = 300 minutes in the sun without burning. It is recommended to use a higher sun protection factor than you think you will need. Most people do not use the correct amount of sunscreen and don’t reapply often enough. This means that their factor 20 often equates to a factor 10. You can still tan using a high protection sunscreen so don’t worry that you won’t come back from holiday without a tan (if that is your aim).
Baby sunscreen should have sunscreen SPF levels of at least 30. Babies should be kept out of the sun where possible and covered in loose-fitting clothing to lessen the risk of sun exposure. Choose an organic sunscreen to protect your baby and you won't need to worry about bad sunscreen chemicals on that delicate skin.
EQ EVOA has an SPF 50 non-toxic sunscreen stick. A physical sunscreen for the face, this natural sunscreen gives the ultimate in sun protection and can be used as an SPF lip balm too. Your lips can burn quickly in the sun and UV exposure can reactivate the cold sore virus. Harmful radiation rays still penetrate clouds and damage your skin. We recommend the use of a daily SPF moisturiser. It’s easy to get caught out without sun protection when you don’t think you will be outside for long enough to be exposed. Perhaps you don’t wish to use a specific sun cream throughout the year. A daily moisturiser with SPF will have you covered. Kimberly Sayer SPF 30 is a matte finish formulation. It is available as a lightweight lotion or as the antioxidant daily moisturising cream.
