Scarf tying tips:
How many times have you enviously looked at someone wearing a scarf and thought I wish I knew how to do that. Here are a few top scarf tying tips to help you get the most out of your gorgeous scarves and shawls.
The wrap – The simplest way to tie a scarf is to drape it around your shoulders. It covers your upper arms, gives an extra layer of warmth and shows of the beauty of the fabric.
The neck wrap – Another super simple method that will keep your neck cosy and looks stylish and tidy. Loop the scarf once around your neck, tie the long ends in a half knot up near your neck and pull the loop over the knot to hide it.
The necklace scarf – Create a scarf necklace. It's easy when you know how. Fold a long scarf in half lengthwise (to make it closer to a square). Grab the diagonal ends and knot them together. Put it over your neck, then twist it and loop again.
The French Twist – A very elegant tie. Just fold the scarf in half put it around your shoulders so you have a loop one side and two loose ends the other. Take one loose end piece and pull it over and under the scarf loop. Take the second end piece and go under and over the same loop.
The double-sided twist – Great for if you can’t decide which scarf to wear. Choose two. Put them back to back, loop once around your neck and turn the fabric so you see both sides.
When the sun’s no longer shining and it’s time to put away the baseball caps and sunscreen we have a great selection of woollen hats and beanies to keep you and your children warm this winter.
The children’s wool knit pig hat is too cute for words. Designed to cover their ears with plaited lengths either side to knot under the chin. And just so you and your older children don’t get jealous, you can have your very own fairtrade owl or penguin to keep your head and ears toasty. The lovely knitting detail of the animal features is 100% wool, and each hat has a cosy fleece lining. These hats are hand knitted in Nepal by carefully selected ethical organisations.
If you are looking for a classic beanie the cosy, chunky, hand cable knit fold beanie is the perfect winter companion, in a fashionable dark grey colour with a coordinating pom pom to finish the look. And you can get matching fairtrade mittens. Or we also love the woollen knitted hats in Peach, Green or Blue that each come with a contrasting detachable crocheted flower brooch.
